Rhinos’ Preseason Opener Cancelled

HANOVER, Pa.- For the second straight year, the Hanover Rhinos have had to cancel their first non-Santa Bowl preseason game.
Given that Santa Bowl VI was also cancelled in December, this leaves the Rhinos without any in-game action against another team just six weeks from the start of the AFA regular season.
According to Rhinos’ head coach Noah Sneeringer, the Rhinos’ would-be opponents, the Washington Wolverines of the ECFA, pulled the plug on the scrimmage via email this Tuesday.
“Got an email (Tuesday) from (Wolverines’ head coach) Derrick (McDaniel) saying they have had a lack of practice and the owner canceled the scrimmage,” Sneeringer said.
The Rhinos, who were looking for an opponent for a second scrimmage to be played in February are now hoping to find an opponent to replace the Wolverines as well.
“I’ve reached out to a few teams trying to get a scrimmage ASAP,” Sneeringer said.
Teams interested in scrimmaging the Rhinos any time between this weekend and March 3rd are advised to email the Rhinos at hanoverrhinosfootball@gmail.com or call the office at 717-465-0782.
